R15 M

Yamaha Motorcycles India introduced the Yamaha R15 V4 and a brand new Yamaha R15M in September 2016. Metallic Gray and Black Metallic are both available for the new Yamaha R15M. The R15M elevates its racing heritage with cutting-edge visuals, a 3D logo, unique seats, traction control, and a rapid shifter. It costs 1, 82,800 Indian Rupees. After a few days on the bike, we could formulate an opinion and share it with you.

Design

The ‘Speed Block’ livery of the Yamaha R15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition is reminiscent of the Yamaha YZR-M1 racing bike of years past. The motorcycle and livery are white, with a red stripe running up the bike’s sides and over the top of the gas tank. The bike’s face also has a touch of colour. Moreover, it has gold-coloured wheels instead of the ordinary R15electric M’s blue wheels or the basic R15 M black wheels. Besides additional 60th anniversary logos, the WGP edition is distinguished by a gleaming golden ‘tuning fork’ symbol.

As if the R15 didn’t already seem expensive enough with its white and red livery, it does so much more so now. Unfortunately, it is not until you get close to the bike and get on it that you appreciate how little it is. Though generally a premium appearance and nicely constructed motorbike, the bike’s lack of LED turn indicators makes the back end less impressive.

Power And Efficiency

A liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve engine provides power for the motorcycle. It has the potential to produce 18.4 PS power and 14.2 Nm of torque. The engine has a quick shifter and traction control (Up-Shift). The dual-channel Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and slipper clutch on this sports bike ensure the rider’s safety. Gear downshifts now effortless thanks to the slipper clutch. In addition, traction control is included on the R15M. Because of this, the bike is less likely to skid and lose control if the rider suddenly applies more force.

In terms of overall Yamaha R15M Specification, performance, this bike is among the best in its class of comfortable motorcycles to ride. You can relax while riding it on the highway or in heavy traffic.

Levitating alone is enough to make you swoon over its capabilities. The bike has a great instantaneous pickup. Additionally, its style ensures you do not blend in with the crowd. However, as you get up to speeds of more than 60kph, it may feel underpowered, particularly if you share the vehicle with another person. One hundred to one hundred fifty kilometres is a good range for a bike trip. More than that, however, you could feel uneasy. There’s also the fact that the pillion passenger won’t be too happy about the lengthy trip. You may get a new perspective by taking it out for a spin on the track.

The Yamaha R15 is an excellent motorcycle that rides and handles like a real sports bike. It’s exciting to drive and stays composed even at triple-digit interstate speeds, and it’s surprisingly stable during turns. In addition, the bike’s small size and the crouching rider posture combine to make for a highly manoeuvrable vehicle, making short work of city traffic.

Conclusion

Yamaha’s R15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition, which retails for Rs. 1,400 more than the base model, has a refined and sophisticated design. Although it has a design that appeals to me, the decision to try it out is ultimately yours. The base price of a Yamaha R15 V4 is Rs. 1.79 lakh (Ex-Showroom), with the WGP Edition costing Rs. 1.90 lakh.
